Rethinking Humour

24 / 03 / 2022

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The Instagram Post

This session’s art is too on the nose of course, but for these designs, in particular, I wasn’t concerned with meaning but rather with the actual way in which I could experiment with photo editing.

I downloaded pictures from Pinterest and played around on Canva, trying to look for a nice way in which I could edit these and thus make my design simple, yet eye-catching.

I quite like the magical and maddening connotation behind the colour green - which is why I concentrated on this colour specifically.

I ended up settling for the pop-art polka dots because of the psychedelic vibe they gave the design overall.

The Event Description

The majority of people are able to experience humour - laughter can stimulate many organs, enhance your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulate your heart, lungs, and muscles, and increases endorphins that are released by your brain.

Humour, however, is ultimately decided by personal taste. The extent to which a person will find something humorous depends upon a host of variables, including geographical location, culture, maturity, level f education, intelligence, and context.

Is there such a thing as universal humour?

Additionally, personal humour also has the potential to hurt and offend. How do we draw the line between what’s funny and what’s unacceptable?

Join us his Thursday 24th and bring in your best jokes!
